Trading at Festivals and Events we try and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Born Again Children s Home in Mombasa Kenya.
Last year we raised money for Macmillan by Chilli Juice drinking competitions, Tombola and The Christmas Wishing Tree at Manchester Christmas Market.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.
Born Again Childrens Orphanage
This year after visiting a childrens orphange in Kenya we were touched by the lives of some very happy children eagerly waiting to be sponsored to go to High School. Unfortunately many have not been so lucky, but we couldn't help ourselves when we met Kelvin who is 13 and has been waiting for 2 years for sponsorship.
With our funds reaching Shimo La Tewa High School Kelvin started School within the week. We have had letters from him and he is very very happy in his new school and is doing extremely well. To see just how well he is doing, you can see a copy of his school report here! His ambition is to be a Doctor and help those less fortunate than himself in Kenya. His brother Duncan is 10 and is still in the orphanage. We hope to raise enough to send him also when he is due to go in 2014.
100% of all money raised through Mango Rays goes straight to the Charities. Mango Rays fund all publicity and marketing.
